HISTORY OF OUR COMIC BOOK STORE:

The History of this Comic Shop travels back in time to the late 1980's when we began to collect comic books for the first time for re-sale interest. This actually began when entrance was gained into a Houston-area comic store called Happy Trails, of whom we were friends with the local shop owners. Upon entrance, the place spoke to us, and we began to crave such a lifestyle for ourselves! The shop owners, taking us under their wings, taught us the tricks of the trade, for such generous people they are! 

Upon the arrival of the early 1990's, we opened our shop in a few indoor Flea Markets in the Houston, Texas area. Then, eventually, within the next year or two, we moved to the Lufkin, Texas area, where we opened a very small store, and were proud to be the first comic book store in that area ... However, as the so-called 'stock-market crash' of the comic book world began to approach in the mid-1990's, we, too, felt the effects, and decided to go ahead and close shop ... However, as we now see that comics are coming back in the 2000's stronger and better than ever, we are proud to join in once again with the Comic Book world!

HISTORY OF MEZZO-ONE:

Mezzo-One is a character that was created in the late 1980's - having the super-heroic 'serial' characters in mind from the Republic movie era of the 1930's and 1940's. At first being named 'Muscle-Man', we decided to rename him Mezzo-One, after the Artificial intelligent Robot name with whom he has merged ... Mezzo-One came from a distant planet, where robots rule, and had come to earth by accident. An evil overlord, from a planet even more distant than Mezzo-One's, had stolen the sacred crystal from Mezzo's planet, which generates life for all robots thereon; and, without it, all the robots will stop functioning within a hundred years. Battling this evil overlord, Mezzo-One, upon entering our solar system, crashed to earth hard, shattering his entire metal-body structure, and leaving only his head intact. The overlord himself was knocked unconscious, and was thrown miles away, and the crystal was also thrown a far distance, and was thought to be completely lost ... Pulling over in his car, private detective Johnny Sharpe (on a very stormy and rainy night - and, who had watched the crash from a distance) jumps out into the rain to see what had crashed. It being rainy and very dark, he spies out the head piece of Mezzo-One, and grabs it, not knowing what it is ... Later on, realizing that it looks like either a robot head, or a weird hat, he actually places it onto his own head. Immediately, the head of Mezzo-One fuses to the detective's body, and they two become one - in mind - in thought! Also, the fusion causes the body of the detective to transform into super-human strength (i.e. a Muscle-Man). Later on, accepting the fusion, he creates a costume, and fights crime, while also searching for the crystal, so that it can be returned to the distant planet.
